Synoptic Monitoring Event on May 16, 2024
for Taughannock Creek under Base Flow conditions
Notes: Event Time = Time of sampling (Eastern Time) at stream mouth (Taughannock Falls); Taughannock Falls (TGF)- Light Fog, Light breeze upstream from lake on surface; Bolter Creek at Cook Rd. (TGCR)- Sample collected downstream side of bridge, but upstream of cattle crossing "alley" fence. Access to creek is very steep and the less steep side, downstream, I discovered is laced with HOT electric fencing. Collecting w/bucket may not be feasible due to creek depth.; Bolter Creek at Runoff/Creek Convergence (TGCV)- Sample collected downstream of where runoff previously converged w/creek when water was higher this spring. Runoff was not observed actively entering stream; Bolter Creek at Blow Down at Site (TGBD)- Beef cattle operation immediately upstream, overwinters on floodplain and has year round access to creek
