Bloom Chemistry
[1] Genera - plural of genus, a category of classification in biology that ranks between the family level and the species level. Because there are many different species of bacteria that are difficult to distinguish, it is more useful to classify bacteria by genus rather than species.

Bloom Description
Volunteer reported: Very calm/no wind, clear water, no waves. There were HABs all over the marina, mostly very thin scattering on the surface/shallow depths, few clumps. I saw this thin speckling all around the South Point, past the fishing pier and to the swimming beach. The photos are at the beach. It seems that without the wind to push the HABs against the shore, they stayed widely spread and very thin, with little clumping. They covered a large area of the marina and lake shore at the park. HAB persistent for month +/
