Red Flag Monitoring Event on August 02, 2026
for Catatonk Creek under Base Flow conditions
Notes: This event is part of a 2025-2026 collaborative project between Community Science Institute and the Al Hazzard Chapter of Trout Unlimited. MCCS: water slightly cloudy; SSE: water cloudy; MCFC: Water cloudy, just rained, calm; SSL: Cloudy, just rained; MCH: A little sediment in flowing water; MCAL: Clear water, multiple beaver dams; MCDF: The water at this site was silty and not flowing. Volunteers had to wade upstream to get a sample from clearer flowing water which was flowing only marginally more than the original sample site. There is an active beaver dam on the opposite side of the road. All other sites had "clear" water according to volunteer field notes.
